During the month of August, our team of 900+ employees came together to initiate a company-wide fundraiser benefiting students and their families as they prepared for the new school year. Across all 22 branch locations, employees and customers contributed non-perishable food items and monetary donations. Through employee and company contributions, $2500 was raised and $500 was donated to 5 organizations; Freeport Community Center, Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program, Help Yourself Food Pantry, AIO Food & Energy Assistance, AIO Food & Energy Assistance and Bath Area Food Bank. As families in need prepare to send their children back to the classroom, they face the expenses of buying school supplies, but one of the burdens they shouldn’t have to face is food insecurities.
By partnering with the Good Shepard Food Bank, Hammond Lumber Company connected and contributed to 24 local food pantries across Maine and New Hampshire:
