Early October 30, pre-dawn wind gusts of 75 miles per hour were reported in the Belgrade area, and Hammond Lumber Company faced our own weather-related losses. Thankfully, we were very fortunate to have the equipment, workforce, and materials needed to immediately respond to the upper-level collapse of one of our older, storage warehouses. No one was on site when the structural damages occurred and there were no personal injuries.
To ensure everyone’s safety, the impacted area was closed off to all non-essential personnel and customers, and our crew began to clean up the windblown debris. As of 3:00 PM, most of the rubble has been disposed of and what remained within the building has been relocated. Plans to rebuild the storage warehouse are already underway. None of the retail spaces were impacted by the storm and regular business operations were not impacted.
Hammond Lumber Company would like to thank its Industry partners who expressed their concern and offered to assist us in whatever way they could. Below are photos taken that day.
All Debris was immediately cleared around on and around the railroad tracks.
