The Dr. Shaw Memorial Library in Mount Vernon has started their summer reading program and this year’s theme is Build a Better World. Kids will work with residents throughout the town building models of rainforests and learning skills like woodworking and how to use tools like screwdrivers and measuring tapes.
Hammond Lumber company donated aprons, tape measures, and notepads to help these little builders be prepared for any job they take on! The Dr. Shaw Memorial Library is a free public library serving the towns of Mt. Vernon and Vienna. For more information visit http://www.mtvernonme.org/Library.html.
